SkinGuide Terms of Service

You must be at least 13 years old to use SkinGuide.

If you are under the age of majority where you live, you represent that you have permission from a parent or legal guardian where required by applicable law.

By using SkinGuide, you represent that you are legally permitted to enter into these Terms.

SkinGuide may provide features including:

• Product photo scanning
• Barcode and EAN scanning
• Ingredient analysis
• Health Ratings
• Skin Match scores
• Facial skin analysis
• Personalized skincare routines
• Ask SkinGuide AI-powered guidance
• Product Finder
• My Shelf and Favorites
• UV information and sunscreen guidance
• Routine and skincare reminders
• Product recommendations and compatibility information
• Subscription-based premium features

Features may change, be added, removed, or updated over time.

Some features require an internet connection, an account, location access, camera access, or an active SkinGuide Pro subscription.

SkinGuide provides skincare information for general informational, educational, and cosmetic purposes.

SkinGuide is not a healthcare provider and is not intended to provide:

• Medical advice
• Medical diagnosis
• Medical treatment
• Prescription recommendations
• Emergency medical guidance

SkinGuide should not be used as a substitute for advice from a physician, dermatologist, pharmacist, or other qualified healthcare professional.

If you have a medical condition, severe skin reaction, persistent irritation, signs of infection, or another health concern, seek appropriate professional medical care.

In an emergency, contact local emergency services.

Some SkinGuide features use artificial intelligence, including OpenAI-powered systems, to analyze images, interpret product information, generate skincare guidance, assist with routines, and respond through Ask SkinGuide.

AI-generated outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, inconsistent, or inappropriate for your individual circumstances.

You should use reasonable judgment and independently verify information that is important to your health, safety, or purchasing decisions.

AI-generated content does not constitute medical advice and does not create a doctor-patient, pharmacist-patient, or other professional healthcare relationship.

SkinGuide may display a numerical or categorical “Health Rating” for certain products.

Health Ratings are informational estimates generated by SkinGuide using available product and ingredient information and SkinGuide’s own scoring methodology.

A Health Rating:

• Is not a medical assessment
• Is not a regulatory certification
• Is not an FDA approval or safety determination
• Does not guarantee that a product is safe
• Does not guarantee that a product will be effective
• Does not guarantee that you will not experience irritation, sensitivity, or an allergic reaction

Health Ratings depend on the quality and completeness of available product information.

Ingredient lists may be incomplete, outdated, incorrectly matched, region-specific, or affected by manufacturer reformulations. A product’s Health Rating may therefore change if new or corrected information becomes available.

You remain responsible for determining whether a product is appropriate for you.

SkinGuide may provide a personalized “Skin Match” score or compatibility assessment based on information such as your skincare profile, skin type, goals, sensitivities, product ingredients, and other available product information.

Skin Match is an estimate and is not a guarantee that a product will work for you or will not cause irritation.

A product with a high Health Rating may not necessarily have a high Skin Match score for you, and a product with a high Skin Match score is not guaranteed to be safe or effective.

Individual skin responses vary. Consider patch testing new products and consulting a qualified professional when appropriate.

SkinGuide may allow you to submit an image of your face for cosmetic skin analysis.

Results may include estimated skin characteristics, observations, scores, areas of focus, or skincare suggestions.

These results depend on factors including:

• Lighting
• Camera quality
• Image angle
• Image clarity
• Environmental conditions
• AI interpretation

Facial skin analysis is not facial recognition, medical diagnosis, or disease detection.

Results should be treated as cosmetic and educational estimates only.

SkinGuide may obtain product and ingredient information from product labels, barcode databases, third-party product databases, manufacturers, publicly available sources, user scans, and other data sources.

We do not control product manufacturers or third-party databases and cannot guarantee that product information is always accurate, complete, current, or applicable to the exact product in your possession.

For example:

• Manufacturers may reformulate products without notice
• A barcode may correspond to multiple sizes, variants, regions, or formulations
• Third-party databases may contain errors
• A scan may identify the wrong product or sibling variant
• An ingredient list may be incomplete
• Packaging or labeling may have changed

When product identity or ingredient information is important to you, verify the ingredient list on the physical product or manufacturer’s current packaging.

SkinGuide may provide product suggestions, personalized routines, routine ordering, Product Finder results, or other recommendations.

Recommendations may be based on your profile, preferences, budget, goals, product data, AI-generated analysis, and SkinGuide scoring systems.

Recommendations are not guarantees of:

• Product effectiveness
• Product availability
• Current pricing
• Personal compatibility
• Safety
• Lack of irritation
• Specific skincare results

SkinGuide does not manufacture or control third-party skincare products.

Links to retailers may open search pages or third-party websites. A retailer link does not guarantee that the displayed product is the exact product analyzed by SkinGuide.

Unless expressly disclosed otherwise, inclusion of a third-party product or retailer does not constitute an endorsement or sponsorship by that company.

SkinGuide may provide UV-index information, sunscreen timing suggestions, sunrise and sunset data, or other weather-related guidance.

Weather, UV, geolocation, and environmental data may be delayed, approximate, incomplete, or inaccurate.

SkinGuide’s UV guidance is informational and should not replace official weather alerts, public-health recommendations, medical advice, or appropriate sun-protection practices.

Certain SkinGuide features require an account.

You are responsible for:

• Providing accurate information where reasonably required
• Maintaining the security of your account credentials
• Protecting access to devices through which you use SkinGuide
• Promptly notifying us if you believe your account has been compromised

SkinGuide may support authentication through third-party identity providers where available.

You may not access another person’s account without authorization.

You may submit information or content to SkinGuide, including:

• Photos
• Product scans
• Messages
• Skincare profile information
• Product information
• Routine information
• Other content necessary to use SkinGuide features

You retain ownership of content you submit to the extent you own that content.

You grant Vantage App Ventures a limited, non-exclusive license to host, process, analyze, transmit, store, reproduce, and otherwise use your content only as reasonably necessary to:

• Provide SkinGuide
• Synchronize your account
• Process AI features
• Analyze products
• Generate recommendations
• Maintain and improve the service
• Protect the service from misuse

For account-linked User Content, this license generally ends when the applicable content is deleted or your account is deleted, subject to reasonable technical, legal, security, backup, and third-party retention requirements.

Product scans may contribute product-level information that helps SkinGuide identify products and ingredient formulas more accurately in the future.

This may include non-personal information such as:

• Brand
• Product name
• Barcode or EAN
• Ingredient information
• Product category
• Formula characteristics
• Product-level scoring or analysis metadata

Such information may be retained in a de-identified product-evidence system that is not intended to contain your user ID, personal profile, chat messages, or personal scan photographs.

Because this information is product-level rather than account-linked User Content, it may remain after your account is deleted.

SkinGuide may offer a paid subscription known as SkinGuide Pro.

Available subscription plans may include weekly, yearly, or other subscription periods displayed in the app.

Prices, promotional offers, and eligibility may vary.

Subscriptions purchased through Apple are billed through your Apple ID and are subject to Apple’s applicable terms.

Some users may be offered a free trial or introductory promotion.

Eligibility for introductory offers may be determined by Apple or other applicable platform rules.

Unless canceled before the end of an applicable trial period, a trial may automatically convert into the paid subscription displayed when you subscribed.

The exact trial period, subscription price, and renewal terms presented on the purchase screen control your purchase.

Promotional offers may not be available to every user.

Subscriptions may automatically renew unless canceled within the time required by Apple before the next billing period.

You can manage or cancel an App Store subscription through your Apple account subscription settings.

Deleting your SkinGuide account does not automatically cancel your App Store subscription.

You are responsible for separately canceling an active subscription through Apple if you no longer wish to be charged.

SkinGuide may provide a Restore Purchases feature for eligible App Store purchases.

Restoration depends on the purchase history and information made available by Apple and applicable subscription services.

App Store purchases are processed by Apple.

Refund eligibility and refund decisions for purchases made through the App Store are generally governed by Apple’s policies.

Vantage App Ventures does not control Apple’s refund decisions.

Skincare products can cause irritation, sensitivity, allergic reactions, breakouts, or other adverse effects even when SkinGuide provides a favorable Health Rating, Skin Match, or recommendation.

SkinGuide cannot know every allergy, medical condition, medication interaction, or individual sensitivity that may affect you.

Where appropriate, consider patch testing new products and consult a qualified healthcare professional regarding allergies, medical conditions, medications, or significant skin concerns.

Discontinue use of a product and seek appropriate assistance if you experience a serious or concerning reaction.

You agree not to:

• Use SkinGuide for unlawful purposes
• Attempt unauthorized access to SkinGuide systems, accounts, APIs, databases, or infrastructure
• Circumvent subscription or access controls
• Abuse or intentionally overload SkinGuide services
• Use automated systems to scrape or extract SkinGuide data without authorization
• Interfere with or disrupt SkinGuide
• Reverse engineer SkinGuide except where applicable law expressly permits it
• Upload malicious code or content
• Attempt to bypass security or rate-limit protections
• Use SkinGuide in a way that infringes the rights of others
• Misuse AI features or attempt to manipulate the service for abusive or unlawful purposes

We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to protect users, the service, third parties, or Vantage App Ventures.

SkinGuide, including its software, design, user interface, branding, logos, original text, scoring methodology, proprietary analysis systems, original content, and compilation and presentation of data, is owned by or licensed to Vantage App Ventures and is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

These Terms do not transfer ownership of SkinGuide intellectual property to you.

Third-party product names, trademarks, logos, ingredient information, and other third-party materials remain the property of their respective owners.

Nothing in these Terms claims ownership by Vantage App Ventures over raw third-party product databases or third-party trademarks merely because that information is displayed or processed through SkinGuide.

SkinGuide depends on third-party services for portions of its functionality, including services related to:

• Authentication
• Artificial intelligence
• Cloud storage
• Product and ingredient information
• Analytics
• Diagnostics
• Subscription management
• Weather and UV information
• Hosting
• Retailer links

Third-party services may have their own terms and privacy policies.

We do not control third-party services and are not responsible for their independent availability, policies, data, products, or conduct.

A third-party service may change, become unavailable, or return inaccurate information without notice to us.

Your use of SkinGuide is also governed by the SkinGuide Privacy Policy, available at:

The Privacy Policy explains how SkinGuide collects, uses, stores, and shares information.

We work to keep SkinGuide available and functional but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.

SkinGuide may be temporarily unavailable because of:

• Maintenance
• Software errors
• Network failures
• Third-party outages
• Provider rate limits
• Security incidents
• Infrastructure problems
• Events outside our reasonable control

We may modify, improve, replace, or discontinue features over time.

If changes materially affect an active paid subscription, we will handle those changes in accordance with applicable law and platform requirements.

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to SkinGuide where reasonably necessary because of:

• Violation of these Terms
• Fraud
• Unlawful conduct
• Security threats
• Abuse of the service
• Attempts to compromise SkinGuide systems
• Conduct that materially harms SkinGuide, its users, or third parties

You may stop using SkinGuide at any time and may delete your account through the app where that functionality is available.

Account deletion does not cancel an active App Store subscription.

Certain information may remain following account deletion as described in the Privacy Policy, including certain third-party transaction or analytics records and de-identified product-level information.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, SkinGuide is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

We do not warrant that:

• SkinGuide will always be available or error-free
• AI-generated content will always be accurate
• Product or ingredient information will always be complete or current
• Health Ratings will perfectly reflect product safety
• Skin Match scores will predict your individual response
• Facial skin analysis will be accurate
• Product recommendations will produce any particular result
• UV or weather information will always be current
• Third-party services will remain available
• A skincare product will be suitable for you

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so some of these limitations may not apply to you.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Vantage App Ventures LLC and its officers, members, employees, contractors, and agents will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or relating to SkinGuide.

This includes, where permitted by law, damages arising from:

• Reliance on AI-generated information
• Health Ratings
• Skin Match scores
• Product recommendations
• Ingredient information
• Product purchases
• Adverse reactions to third-party products
• UV or weather information
• Service interruptions
• Third-party services

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or relating to SkinGuide will not exceed the greater of:

1. The amount you paid to Vantage App Ventures for SkinGuide during the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim; or
2. Fifty U.S. dollars ($50).

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Vantage App Ventures LLC and its officers, members, employees, contractors, and agents from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and reasonable expenses arising from:

• Your unlawful use of SkinGuide
• Your material violation of these Terms
• Your infringement of another person’s rights
• Content you submit in violation of law or third-party rights

This provision does not apply where prohibited by applicable law.

Vantage App Ventures is not responsible for delays or failures caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, internet or telecommunications outages, government actions, labor disruptions, cyberattacks, infrastructure failures, third-party service failures, or similar events.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable consumer-protection law requires otherwise.

Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory rights you may have under the laws of your jurisdiction.

If you download or use SkinGuide through Apple’s App Store, you acknowledge that:

• These Terms are between you and Vantage App Ventures LLC, not Apple.
• Apple is not responsible for providing maintenance or support for SkinGuide except as required by applicable law.
• Apple is not responsible for claims relating to SkinGuide except to the extent required by applicable law.
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms with respect to your use of SkinGuide through the App Store and may enforce applicable provisions against you.
• Your use of SkinGuide must comply with applicable App Store terms and usage rules.

Apple’s own terms, including any applicable Apple Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, may also apply.

We may update these Terms as SkinGuide changes, features evolve, or legal requirements change.

If we make material changes, we may update the effective date or provide additional notice where appropriate.

Your continued use of SkinGuide after revised Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of those revised Terms where permitted by applicable law.

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect to the fullest extent permitted by law.

These Terms, together with the SkinGuide Privacy Policy and any additional terms presented in connection with a particular feature or purchase, constitute the agreement between you and Vantage App Ventures concerning your use of SkinGuide.
